Over-the-hill-and-beyond

1st of May. May Day – public holiday in France, commemorating workers rights. I missed the protests, though unsurprisingly they were happening in Paris – and all around the world.

It’s a tradition to give Lily of the valley flowers to loved ones, see styley example above.

I hiked around Bois de Vincennes in the morning – Paris’ biggest park at 2460 acres (and a mere 1000 years old) and a 3 min walk from my apartment.

Then took the metro to beautiful Bastille in the evening.
